LIMBIC is founded by Mayya Teytel-Cocozza, M.S., CCC-SLP, a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer. Over 14 years working in the Brain Injury field, it is Mayya’s life – long dedication and honor to further facilitate cognitive growth and progress.
Our main goal is to help individuals with Brain Injury achieve their maximal potential and return to independence.

The Downtown Brooklyn Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, located at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus offers full diagnostic and therapeutic services to bilingual and monolingual adolescents and adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders associated with Brain Injury.
Mayya Teytel-Cocozza, M.S., CCC-SLP, CBIST, TSSLD-BE
Mayya Teytel-Cocozza is a New York State Licensed and ASHA Certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Mayya is a certified brain injury specialist trainer. Additionally, Mayya holds NYS TSSLD certificate with bilingual extension in the Russian language.
Mayya holds a Master of Science degree from Long Island University, Brooklyn and Bachelor’s degree with a psychology minor from Brooklyn College.
Mayya is currently working as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Educator within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus.
As the Adjunct Professor in the CSD Program, Mayya teaches graduate and undergraduate level courses including Aphasia/Adult Neurogenic Disorders; Diagnostic Practicum: Adults and Introduction to Communication Disorders. As the Clinical Educator, Mayya provides clinical education and supervision to graduate students at the Downtown Brooklyn Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, Long Island University. Mayya demonstrates clinical concentrations in the areas of neurogenic disorders.
